Listening is my passion. I often ask people what their favorite sound is. Responses vary from fire crackling to rain on the roof. As an audiologist for twenty years in the Rocky Mountains, listening to nature has become a way of life and of survival. One of my patients told me that new hearing aids enabled him to hear a grizzly bear strolling by the huckleberry patch! Who knew that hearing aids could be so exciting! Children are especially surprised when they receive hearing aids for the first time because every sound is a new adventure.
I earned my master’s degree in Audiology at the University of Northern Colorado. After working as an Audiologist with patients of all ages, in a hospital setting, for almost a decade, I pursued my doctorate in Audiology. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2009. I enjoy hearing people’s stories and am happy to join them on their journey towards healthier hearing and happier listening.
My background includes providing support for patients frustrated with tinnitus as well as encouraging hearing conservation through education. I am thrilled to be back in the Midwest near friends and family. I am looking forward to getting to know the community better. I may see you on the trails of the Metroparks or catch you listening to the waves on the shores of Lake Erie. You will know it is me, because of the bells on my backpack that keep away the bears.
