MaryAnn’s Family Hearing is trying to remain open as much as is safely possible, as we are considered an “essential” business, providing class 1 and 2 medical devices and the services related to these devices. Having said that, there are, and may continue to be hiccups along the way for the next month or so.

Yesterday I felt feverish. My symptoms do not yet include a cough—just fever, chills and lethargy. I have no idea what virus I have, but I will be self-quarantining until it is safe for my return. I’m thinking that will be in two weeks’ time.

Then, this morning, Dr. Amanda Barbur called me with news that her husband James may have been exposed to the coronavirus yesterday. Amanda and James are both asymptomatic but as a precaution she will be staying home until test results are in. She may or may not be back in the office next week.

We are all of the mindset that our client’s needs for health and safety come first.

For the remainder of this week the plan is for Nancy to be in the office from 9am-2pm to take phone calls, reschedule appointments and disinfect. Amanda and I can return your phone calls and even initiate telecoms as needed to walk you through any troubleshooting with your hearing aids or smart phones. We will be reachable! We are here for you, and that means protecting you too!

Throughout the next month, best case scenario will have us down to a skeleton crew, scheduling with extra spacing between clients. Worst case scenario is that we temporarily close our doors, with our phones redirected to whomever is on call for the day. Remember, we will be reachable!

Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/maryannfamilyhearing/ for current information, and please call ahead at 440-357-4327 before you come in! Stay well.

Committed to your health and safety, we want you to know we are doing everything we can to keep you safe when you do visit with us during this unprecedented health emergency. Some of the steps we are taking are as follows:

We are following guidance by health officials and cleaning our office equipment, doorknobs, rest rooms and credit card machine at start of business and throughout the day.

We ask that you wash your hands or use our hand sanitizer when you enter our office. Our staff is doing the same!

We will be spacing out appointments so we can practice social distancing in our waiting room. Please help us by keeping a safe distance away from anyone else in our waiting room.

We ask that if you are ill (we are a well-clinic, seeing healthy people) or do not feel comfortable coming out during this time, please call and we will reschedule your appointment. Alternatively, you can request a teleconference, which is…

NEW for you! We now offer a telehealth service where we will invite you to participate in a video call with us to take care of any needs and questions you may have or demonstrate how to change filters, etc. Simply call us to request a telehealth conference and provide us with your email address. When we are free, we will send you an email invitation to join our conference. Once you accept our invitation, you will see us on your smart phone or computer, and we will see you. It’s a face-to-face visit.

We realize this is a trying time and we will all get through this together! MAFH is here for you and we thank you for being there to support us too!

Most sincerely,
